Beelitz-Heilstätten is a huge sanatorium complex located just to the south of Berlin.
Construction of the first phase of this complex started in 1898 en large parts of the hospital were still in use in 1994 by the Russian military.
But after they left the complex was left standing without use.
In December 2011 Rammstein did the shoot for their Mein Herz Brennt
video at the Beelitz-Heilstätten complex, which was directed by Eugenio
Recuenco. In june 2012 they did some extra shots for this video under
direction of Zoran Bihać, because the band thought the video did not fit
the song very well.
The video had it’s premiere on December 14th, 2012.
They same day Zoran shot the extra footage for the original video, he also shot the footage for the “Piano Version” of the song.
This video got it’s premiere on December 7th, 2012.
