Palais am Funkturm

The Palais am Funkturm is a listed event hall of the Messe Berlin, including the interior, located on the exhibition grounds at the Funkturm, opposite the Haus des Rundfunks on Masurenallee.
Originally built as a ball house, it now serves as a functional event location and is often used for award ceremonies, such as the Echo Awards 2012.
The building consists of two floors.

  • Rammstein performed the song “The Beautiful People” alongside Marilyn Manson, Till was missing.
  • Manson started the song by screaming “Rammstein!”, he also changed the line “How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?” to “How does it feel to be Rammstein?”.
  • Although Rammstein played at the beginning of the show, TV stations showed it near the end. This was due to the extensive setup of the stage.
  • Rammstein received two Awards that night.
  • A professional recording of the performance was broadcast on TV by Das Erste.
